Rhythm and Vines Festival – New Zealand
Held at Waiohika Estate Vineyard near the city of Gisborne, New Zealand, the Rhythm and Vines Festival is held annually and brings various talent to the remote island.
It was founded in 2003 by friends Hamish Pinkham, Tom Gibson and Andrew Witters. They wanted to hold an event for their university of Otago friends to celebrate the New Year in a safe environment with up and coming as well as established New Zealand musicians.
In 2010 sold out for the first time, after hosting notable acts like N.E.R.D, Netsky, Chase & Status, Chromeo, Justice and more. This lead to the festival eventuallz being crowned Best Event at the NZ Tourism Awards.
In 2014, Rhythm and Vines introduced the Arcadia Afterburner concert stage, brought in from Glastonbury Festival, and hosted Bastille, Broods, along with a return of festival favorites Netsky and Chase and Status.
